bouncy WOOHOO!
It's 12:15am on 16th July 2005. And, at 12:01, I went off to the local Asda store (part of Wal-Mart, US fans) and picked up a copy of the latest Harry Potter book, Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince! They opened the store specially as it's not one of the 24 hour ones. All of the staff were in Harry Potter getup, with namebadges that said "Harry" too. Poor souls - although I chatted to one woman, and they're getting double time for turning up to this shindig *G* So everyone wins!
Not only have I got the newest book, and at just gone midnight on the day of release, but with it being Asda they offered a special discount to everyone who made the effort to turn up for the midnight event (and there were a LOT) - they slashed the price of the book from the RRP of £17.99 to £7.96!!!!!!!!!!!
Getting the book first, that's good. Getting it that cheap, that's just icing on the cake!
Still at my friend's place at the moment, but I shall be heading back soon, and reading on the way home too *G* The latest one promises to be impressive .......
